Bringing knowledge and love to Children in remote areas

This activity is part of the "Green Summer" volunteer campaign, organized by the Youth Union of VHT, along with three mass organizations of the corporation, in collaboration with the University of Technology.

Many children, reading books like "100,000 Whys: Secrets of Earth and the World of Insects"; "100 Amazing Mysteries About Numbers, Computers, and Codes," "Can You ‘Unlock’ the Code?," and "The STEM Team: The World of Technological Devices and Robots," for the first time, could not hide their excitement.

In addition to donating books, VHT also provided 12 gifts to underprivileged students at the two schools. Notably, VHT, in collaboration with the University of Technology, applied the Education XR software developed by VHT in a STEM teaching session for the students at Chieu Yen Primary School and Chan Son Secondary School.

Ms. Ha Thi Binh, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Chieu Yen Commune, shared: “The local government would like to express our gratitude to VHT and the University of Technology for bringing meaningful gifts, which in part help students gain more access to technology. These are valuable educational resources for the students, especially given the limited implementation of technology in teaching at the local level. The local government hopes to continue receiving support from Viettel High Technology Industries Corporation and the University of Technology in future projects.”

This is the first time that VHT has implemented a charity program for children in the mountainous area of Tuyen Quang. Therefore, every book and lesson was meticulously prepared.

Dao Thu Giang (Transmission Technology Research Center) and her colleagues, who are youth union members from various units, personally prepared and packed the gifts to present to the children after their STEM lessons. For Giang, this was a meaningful experience, allowing her to interact with the children, listen to the teachers’ stories, and gain a deeper understanding of the children’s difficult circumstances. Giang and the team of students from the University of Technology collaborated to deliver engaging lessons, which included not only theoretical content but also practical models, along with interesting questions to help the students reinforce their knowledge.

Taking on the responsibility of teaching at Chieu Yen Primary School, Le Quang Hung, Secretary of the Youth Union at the Command and Control Center, initially felt a bit anxious, but those worries disappeared once he directly interacted with the children. Hung shared: “The children were very well-behaved, listened to the instructions of the older students, and were eager to learn. The innocence in their eyes seemed to energize the entire team throughout the volunteer program. The thing that troubles me most after this trip is not having the opportunity to impart more knowledge to them. I hope that the recent lessons have sparked a passion for science in the children, allowing them to see the wonders of science in the world around them. Access to educational materials for children in remote mountainous areas remains a significant challenge, but with the community’s collective efforts, knowledge will be brought closer to them.”

For the members of VHT’s volunteer program team, the lasting impression from this trip is not just the pure smiles of the children, but also the warmth of human connection in this region. In a place where living conditions are still difficult, the kindness shared between people becomes warmer and more beautiful than ever.

The 100 books and 2 STEM bookshelves represent the sincere love and affection of VHT sent to children in areas where educational conditions are still challenging and lacking. This is a beautiful beginning for future journeys of spreading love, knowledge, and promoting a reading culture among children.
