Viettel High Tech Wins First Prize at the 2024 Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative

HANOI, November 29 – The first prize of the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2024 was awarded to a team from Viettel High Tech for their groundbreaking project, “Smart Traffic Violation Detection and Analysis Camera,” during the official awards ceremony held on Friday afternoon.

The winning team, comprising Nguyễn Minh Đức, Bạch Ngọc Minh Châu, Nguyễn Thùy Tiên, Nguyễn Vũ Lâm, and Đinh Văn Duy, impressed the judges with their innovative solution aimed at enhancing road safety through advanced technology.

Earlier in the day, the final round of the competition took place at Hanoi University of Science and Technology, where eight shortlisted teams and individuals presented their initiatives before a panel of judges. Each team was allocated 20 minutes — 10 minutes for the presentation and 10 minutes for a Q&A session.

Viettel High Tech showcased VCAM, a high-speed intelligent camera capable of capturing license plates of vehicles traveling at speeds of up to 250 km/h. The device, which supports 4G/5G connectivity, is designed to assist government agencies in detecting traffic violations and analyzing road conditions in real time.

Following the presentations, the judging panel deliberated and selected the winning entries based on innovation, practicality, and potential impact.

The competition, held over the course of three months, attracted numerous high-quality entries featuring advanced technological solutions. Speaking at the event, journalist Phạm Tuấn Anh, Editor-in-Chief of Dân trí Newspaper, emphasized that this year’s competition focused on technology as a key driver in addressing traffic challenges, improving road safety, and raising public awareness.

The Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative 2024 once again underscored the vital role of innovation in making Vietnam’s roads safer and more efficient.
