At the Mobile World Congress 2025 (MWC 2025) in Barcelona, Qualcomm announced significant advancements in the global deployment of 5G Open RAN, highlighting Viettel High Tech as a strategic partner in driving 5G infrastructure development. This collaboration not only elevates Viettel High Tech’s position on the global technology map but also affirms Vietnam’s capabilities in the telecommunications sector.

Qualcomm’s announcement emphasized that the growing adoption of Open RAN by leading network equipment providers reflects the rapid expansion of this technology. As operators seek to modernize 5G networks with powerful, highly interoperable, and cost-effective equipment, Viettel’s commercial deployment of 5G Open RAN with Qualcomm marks a major milestone, demonstrating the commercial readiness of these solutions. Notably, all Radio Units (RU) and Distributed Units (DU) utilizing Qualcomm chipsets have been independently designed and developed by Viettel High Tech.
