In the context of traffic fines being a hot topic nowadays, the AI-powered traffic cameras developed by Viettel High Tech engineers have drawn significant public attention and were featured on the VTV Index.
The traffic cameras researched and developed by Viettel High Tech are high-speed intelligent cameras with the ability to be customized according to the needs of each market. They are the first cameras in their category to support 4G/5G and have powerful AI processing capabilities at the edge. As a result, while traditional traffic fine cameras need to collect images and send them to data centers for processing before transmitting them to enforcement units, Viettel High Tech’s cameras can independently identify traffic violations and provide analysis and recommendations based on real-time data and images.
The integration of artificial intelligence and image processing technology allows Viettel High Tech’s smart cameras to capture license plates clearly at speeds of up to 250 km/h and detect traffic violations quickly and accurately with no delay.
Not only designed to detect traffic violations, the product is also designed to retrieve and analyze traffic information, such as traffic flow, vehicle type, and speed, aiming to become an active traffic sensor that aids in traffic regulation. This will help make the transportation process safer and more efficient for the public.
With its AI-powered traffic camera product, Viettel High Tech’s engineers won the First Prize at the Vietnam Traffic Safety Initiative Competition 2024 held in early December 2024.
In addition to being tested in several provinces and cities like Thai Nguyen, Hai Phong, and Hue, the traffic cameras have been officially installed in Laos, as part of a cooperation program with Unitel.
To meet the specific traffic conditions in Laos, Viettel High Tech engineers spent 15 days customizing the violation detection scenarios for Laos, as well as adapting to the recognition of license plate numbers in Laos.
Currently, the ITS cameras are being integrated into the Smart City Operation Center (IOC) in Laos, led by Viettel Solutions.
